Dylan D
Dylan is the fourth generation President and CEO of Baxter Heating & Air. He graduated from DMACC with an associate degree in heating & air conditioning, holds a State of Iowa HVAC-R Master license, and currently serves as a board member on the Iowa Geothermal Association. He has been through Amana, LG, and ClimateMaster factory training programs. Dylan grew up running service calls with dad & working summers with the install crew; he came on full-time after college in 2015 and purchased the company in 2024. Dylan likes to go fishing with family, along with motorcycle and bicycle riding. He is also an ardent Hawkeye fan, and holds season tickets to football games at Kinnick Stadium!
Karen B
Karen joined the Baxter team as a Customer Service Representative in 2018 and is currently in the Office Manager role. Karen has a Practical Nursing degree and an AA Degree from Marshalltown Community College. She has several years of office experience as well. Karen lives in Baxter and has three grown children, Bryce, Brooke and Katie. Karen enjoys spending time with her kids when they aren't too busy! She also loves to spend time going golfing and playing catch in the backyard with her 4 dogs Harley, Blossom, Tilly and Phoebe. She also has 2 cats, Gilligan and Boo. You can definitely say she is an animal lover!
Kinley B
Kinley joined the Baxter Heating & Air team as a Customer Service Representative in 2023. She does a bit of everything around the office, from working the phones, to scheduling, curating our social media, and keeping our books. Kinley has an AAS Marketing Degree from DMACC. Kinley lives in Baxter with her boyfriend, Justin, and is an animal mom to their dog Okie and her 5 chickens: Chickenzie Jr., Hennifer, Henelope, Eggna, and Repecka. In her free time, she likes to garden, hang out with friends and family, and run her floral business!
Dena K
Dena joined the Baxter Heating & Air team in 2022 as a Customer Service Representative. Dena currently completes many tasks in the office from chatting with customers on the phone to keeping books, she does it all! She has many years of experience in bookkeeping for many small businesses in the area. Dena is a long-time resident of Baxter and loves to spend time with her two sons, and family in Kansas & Oklahoma. She has a dog, Coco Chanel, and a cat, Guthrie. You can catch her shopping, traveling, and doing DIY projects around the house in her free time!
Justin S
Justin started with Baxter Heating & Air in 2009. He holds a State of Iowa HVAC-R Journeyman license and is fusion-certified as well as having been trained on ClimateMaster products. Justin is our Install Manager, and is especially experienced in ductwork fabrication and installation. He and his wife, Kari, live in Baxter and have two sons, Carter and Cooper, who keep them busy. He also enjoys spending time with his dogs, Tessa and Titan. In his free time, he likes hunting, fishing, and going on vacations. You will know Justin when you see him- his nickname is "House"!
Orval S
Orval started with Baxter Heating & Air in 2018. Orval holds a State of Iowa Journeyman license in HVAC-R. Orval graduated from DMACC with an Associate’s Degree in Heating and Cooling. Before joining us, Orval gained technical experience as a service technician in the Des Moines area. Orval is the Service and Sales Manager and dedicates a lot of time to Baxter Heating & Air. He also enjoys car shows, live sporting events, doing projects around the house, and going for runs!
Noah K
Noah joined the Baxter Heating & Air team in 2021 as a Service & Maintenance Apprentice. Noah is currently on the install team and gaining experience in every facet of HVAC. Noah lives in Newton with his wife, Logan, and their dog, Gunner. Noah enjoys the outdoors and likes to hunt, fish, and go camping. Noah is also a big sports fan and roots for the Cyclones and Packers!
Nate H
Nate started as an Install Apprentice at Baxter Heating & Air in 2023. He grew up on a farm in Northeast Iowa where he learned many things, including the value of hard work! Nate lives in Melbourne with his fiancé, McKenzie, and his dogs, Cooper and Juli. Nate likes to spend his free time with family, raising show pigs, and fishing!
Zacc W
Zacc started in 2023 as a Service & Maintenance Apprentice at Baxter Heating & Air. He is a veteran of the US Army and spent several years stationed around the globe, including Alaska! He also holds two Associate’s Degrees in Automotive Technology and Business Management from WYO Tech. Zacc lives in Baxter with his wife, Arin, and 4 children, Tilly, Jude, Wailen, and Zoe. In his off time, he enjoys playing fetch with his dog, Banks, and doing woodworking projects!
Eli M
Eli joined the Baxter Heating & Air team in 2023 as an Install Apprentice. He grew up on his family farm in southern Iowa and has always been in the construction industry. Eli lives in Newton with his wife, Georgia. In his free time Eli enjoys playing pool, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with friends!
Bryce B
Bryce joined the Baxter Heating & Air team as a Service and Maintenance Apprentice in 2025. Bryce has experience in many industries that have helped lead him to HVAC. Bryce lives in Maxwell with his girlfriend, Karley, and their dog, Quinn. In his free time Bryce likes to golf, spend time with his family and friends, and play video games!
Michael K
Michael started at Baxter Heating & Air in 2025 as a Service & Maintenance Apprentice. Previous to Baxter Heating & Air, Michael was in the construction industry for multiple years. Michael lives in Newton with his wife, Psalm, and their dog Felicity. In Michael’s free time he enjoys golfing and spending time with friends!
Andrew W
Andrew started at Baxter Heating & Air in 2025 as a Service and Maintenance Intern. He is currently enrolled at Iowa Central Community College, studying for his AAS in Heating and Air Conditioning Technology. He is also on the bowling team at Iowa Central. When not at college, Andrew lives in Newton with his family and two cats, Squirt and Tiger. In Andrew’s free time he enjoys disc golfing and tennis!
Dewey
Dewey joined the Baxter Heating & Air team in 2024 as The Office Dog. He gained valuable street-smarts as a stray before being rescued at the ARL, but has now completed training, including potty training, sit, and spin! When Dewey is not “working”, he enjoys walks around the neighborhood and swimming at the lake!
